How much time does it take to create a living budget?  To create a living budget you must first gather and organize your financial information.  Specifically, you should list all your income and debt sources.  If you have a spreadsheet program, you could list the detail information in a form as displayed in the image at the bottom of this page.

The last steps to finishing the setup of your living budget, will be reconciling your living budget check register to your existing check register.  The time it takes is dependant on the amount of entries you have and whether your existing check register is reconciled.  Conservatively speaking, you can create general and check register transactions in less than a minute.
